Nostalgia Negeri Utara
seperti rumah ketiga (rumah keduanya tentu saja Jogja ^^). Entah kapan bisa kembali kesana lagi.
Beberapa waktu lalu, dosen sekaligus staf urusan
internasionalnya fakultas di kampus meminta saya mengirimkan kesan-kesan selama
tinggal di Boras sebagai mahasiswa pertukaran, untuk diberikan ke komite
Linnaeus Palme Scholarship, pemberi beasiswa. Beliau meminta kesannya dalam dua
paragraf saja. Nah ya. Susah sekali merangkum pengalaman selama 5 bulan hanya
dalam 2 paragraf. Beginilah akhirnya yang saya tulis:
The experience living in Boras for 5
months has given me a lot of precious lessons. Academically, I learned about
motivational theory and gender psychology from Swedish perspective. I also
learned some Swedish phrases from Swedish for Beginner class (Jag heter Tanti!).
I enjoyed the classes and the discussions with my Swedish lecturers and
classmates. In my spare time, I managed to do some leisure activities such as
langlaufing, snow-skying, attending bon-fire and festivals, and visiting some
interesting places such as musical, concert, and amusement park. I learned to
communicate with people from various backgrounds, and developing friendship
with some of them.
After joining the program, I know that
Sweden is more than just a snowy country where ABBA and Pippi Longstocking came
from. I found that Sweden is a good role model for any developing nation that
wants to make their country become a very nice place to live. I was amazed by the
quality of infrastructures and facilities there, such as the reliable transportation
system and the fast internet connection. I learned that Sweden has
comprehensive welfare system that guarantees equal happiness for every citizen
(and also immigrants). I admire the lifestyle and values of the Swedes, such as
their punctuality and their appreciation toward gender equality. Overall, I am
really grateful for the opportunity to stay in Sweden.
Maafkan
kesalahan grammarnya >_<. Dan itu belum berhasil merangkum semua yang
sebetulnya ingin saya ungkapkan. Beberapa hal sudah saya ceritakan di blog yang dibuat khusus untuk cerita soal Boras, juga di blog SwedeninTouch (yang sepertinya sudah hilang). Tapi apa yang saya dapat rasanya lebih dari itu. Mungkin
memang tidak semuanya bisa diungkapkan dengan kata-kata. Beberapa gambar bisa berbicara banyak...
